How to get ready for your bed delivery

Get Laid Beds Delivery Boxes

There’s nothing quite like the excitement of a new bed arriving. To help make your delivery day go as smoothly as possible, we’ve put together a quick checklist of things you can do to prepare in advance.

1. Check Your Delivery and Contact Information

Before your bed is due to be on its way, double-check the delivery date, time slot, and contact details you've provided. It’s important to make sure we have the right phone number in case our delivery team needs to get in touch with you on the day. If anything’s changed since you placed your order, such as a new address or access instructions, please let us know as soon as possible, by contacting customer service.

2. Prepare your space

A clear and tidy space will make assembling your new bed easier.Spend some time moving any existing furniture out of the way, clear the floor of rugs or other items, and give the area a quick clean to get it ready for your new frame. Make sure the room is ready and there is enough room for you to assemble the bed.

When preparing your room, also make sure you have the necessary tools needed to assemble the bed readily available. Usually, you’ll need an electric screwdriver, as well as a mallet (optional).

3. Measure Doors and Hallways

Our beds are designed to be delivered in parts for easy access, but it’s still worth measuring any tight corners, narrow staircases or low ceilings along the way. If you think access might be tricky, let us know in advance and our team may be able to offer guidance or alternatives.

Your new bed frame will come flat packed, making it easy to transport to your room of choice. We’ll usually deliver your bed in at least 2 boxes to make it easier to transport your bed to the bedroom. However some boxes might be heavy, so you may need someone to help you carry the boxes, especially up the stairs.

4. Clear a Path

Before delivery day, make sure the route from your front door to the bedroom is free from obstacles. Move any furniture, boxes, or rugs that might get in the way, and ensure floors are clear and safe to walk on. This will make it easier for you to carry your bed without damage, and it also reduces the risk of accidents. Don’t forget to check hallways, doorways, and staircases, as sometimes even small items like plants or shoes can slow things down.

As all our deliveries are flat packed for self assembly, you will need to transport your new wooden bed frame boxes from the delivery door to your chosen bedroom yourself. Therefore, having a clear path to your bedroom can really make delivery day a lot easier and manageable.

5. Check Your Delivery

Once your bed arrives, take a moment to check everything is present and correct. You should receive all the parts listed in your delivery note, including a printed installation guide. If anything’s missing or doesn’t seem quite right, contact us straight away and we’ll do what we can to fix the issue. You can also visit our Help & Advice centre where we answer most common questions.

6. Have a Backup Plan

While we aim for every delivery to be seamless, it’s always good to have a plan B, especially if you're on a tight schedule. This might mean having someone available to accept delivery on your behalf, .just to make sure that you can still have your frame ready for bed time.

7. Leave Us Know How We Did

Once your bed is delivered and set up, we’d love to hear what you think! Leaving a review helps other customers make informed choices and lets us know how we’re doing. Whether it's a glowing five stars or helpful feedback for improvement, your voice makes a difference. What’s more, once your bed is set up you can sign up to our Monthly Photo Competition and have a chance to win up to $500.
